Are We Blessing or Beseeching Money to Come to Us?
Why Laws of Attraction and Assumption aren't working out so well for you
The Law of Attraction and the Law of Assumption ask us, require us, to become something we’re not.
We aren’t yet the person who has the thing we’re praying for. Otherwise, we would already be a match to it and would be praying for some other thing we aren’t yet a match to.
The Law of Attraction and the Law of Assumption are both concepts associated with the manifestation of desires and achieving goals, right? However, they have different underlying principles and approaches, and they’re different enough to explore in more detail.
I’m finding that more often Law of Attraction tends to trip people up in that they come at it from beseeching energy, and the Law of Assumption seems to facilitate better the energy of blessing and believing.
Beseeching is externally focused and exhausting, and Blessing and Believing are so much more efficient because they are internally generated.
Here are the key differences between the two:
1. Principle:
- Law of Attraction: The Law of Attraction is based on the premise that positive or negative thoughts and emotions attract corresponding experiences to us. It suggests, I’m going to say insists, that focusing on positive thoughts and feelings (and ignoring any unresolved trauma) can bring about positive outcomes while dwelling on negative thoughts can attract negative situations.
The misunderstanding and misteaching, deliberate or innocent, of the Law of Attraction has turned out to be Satan’s playground as it results in victim-blaming from others and self-blaming from, well, yourself, more than any other teaching I’ve encountered.
- Law of Assumption: The Law of Assumption, also known as the Law of Belief (and I’m going to add Blessing), is the idea that assuming the reality of a desired outcome will bring it into existence. It emphasizes the power of beliefs and assumptions in shaping our reality. By assuming the feeling state of having already achieved the thing, we align ourselves with the reality we want to create.
When used correctly, we don’t have to go digging for thoughts to try and change. We don’t have to think about thoughts at all - we just GO. We just ARE the thing. We aren’t waiting for signs or messages; we’re generating the energy state and then radiating it all around us.
2. Focus:
- Law of Attraction: The Law of Attraction places a significant emphasis on thoughts and emotions. We’re supposed to visualize our desires, create positive affirmations by spending energy to change the words we say to ourselves, and this is supposed to maintain a high vibration that attracts desired outcomes like mo’ money.
- Law of Assumption: The Law of Assumption focuses on beliefs and assumptions that we already are that which we seek. It encourages us to adopt the mindset of already having achieved our goals, allowing us to feel the reality of our desires RIGHT NOW and begin living in that state.
3. Intentions:
- Law of Attraction: The Law of Attraction often centers around specific intentions or desires. It encourages individuals to clearly define their goals and visualize them in detail, using the power of positive thoughts and emotions to manifest those intentions.
- Law of Assumption: The Law of Assumption presents a broader, more encompassing perspective. Assuming the state of already having the desired outcome applies to all aspects of life, not just specific goals or intentions. By assuming the desired reality in all areas, individuals can create a general state of abundance across the board.
This eliminates the Mind fuck of, “Should I try to manifest money first and then health and then an orange tabby cat and then a new cell phone and then a new husband?” etc.
Mind loves this game, by the way, because it brings everything to a screeching halt, and we get to stay in our Familiar Bad Feeling Places for a few more decades. Yay! Ugh.
4. Timing:
- Law of Attraction: The Law of Attraction typically focuses on the future manifestation of desires. It suggests that by maintaining positive thoughts and emotions, individuals can attract their desired outcomes later. This is the never-ending carrot and stick game that I absolutely hate.
- Law of Assumption: The Law of Assumption emphasizes the present moment where all of our power lives. It encourages us to assume the feeling state of already having achieved money and love and wealth and an orange tabby cat, which can then influence my/our experiences and circumstances in the immediate future.
We stop thinking about, reaching for, and beseeching toward the future. We allow ourselves to have it now, and we DO have it now energetically.
So while both these laws are meant to help us manifest desires and achieve goals, they differ in their underlying principles, focus, and approach, and they require different things from us.
The Law of Attraction emphasizes finding our limiting beliefs and not-so-positive thoughts so we can change them, theoretically then also changing emotions to attract desired outcomes, while the Law of Assumption focuses on assuming the feeling state of already having achieved one's goals as a way to create your own reality.
5. What this looks like in real life:
Train Your Body to Wealth has turned into my signature course, which has also turned out to be wildly successful. As I’m promoting it again (today is the last day for Early Bird pricing, which you can see here), I’ve been reflecting on and trying to understand why it worked for me and why it’s working for others even though we have all tried so damn many other approaches that didn’t create deep change.
The foundational reason is coming from, or at least I think this is it for today, that we are applying the Law of Assumption but then taking several more steps that are less discussed in most materials, including Neville Goddard’s work.
I’m not dragging old Neville; he had it going on! What he didn’t have was the biological understanding that to apply and SUSTAIN the Law of Assumption long enough to see our material, 3D, cash in our pockets, reality change, we have to include the Vagus nerve and the nervous system states.
Basically, we experience three states of our nervous system:
Ventral Vagal, which is safe, social, and chill af Snoop Dog energy
Sympathetic, which is fight or flight, y’all ‘bout to catch these hands, energy
Dorsal Vagal, which is shut down, I’m a Sloth disguised as a human being, energy.
There is a lot more to this system. Google Polyvagal theory if you want to nerd out, or you have a Line 1 in your Human Design profile, but this will do for today.
We have to know what state we’re on a daily basis. What’s our default? What’s our Familiar Bad Feeling Place?
When we discover this - we can then apply Law of Assumption. When we apply it we trigger the shit out of our default nervous system setting, and THEN we do what Neville didn’t teach: we train our body to handle the different energetic sensations in our flesh, blood, and bone body.
6. How it works step-by-step:
Identify your default state
Apply the Law of Assumption that you’re heart-centered AND a rich bitch already
Mind gets alarmed because this is different, and Different = Death
Bartender in the Brain mixes up a new mood chemical cocktail
Physicality gets flooded with the new cocktail and starts changing leading to more Mind alarm
Smarty pants, nervous-system-savvy you, apply some easy-to-use techniques to check yo’self before you wreck yo’self
Lather, rinse, repeat on the daily
Adaptation occurs
Tangible manifest reality changes
Boom! Done.
In other words: if our default is Dorsal Vagal - paralyzed on the couch, collapsed in victim energy, moving Sloth-like through our lives - then we can assume a life of more energy IS possible. We can put our efforts into standing up and moving, even if that’s just shaking our tailfeathers while watching TV in the beginning.
When we begin moving, our brain is free to open more doors to awareness and options to choose from.
We ASSUME we can change it even when our thoughts say, “Oh yeah? Good luck with that, sugar!”
When we assume we can change something and then start living in that CHOSEN state now to the best of our abilities, then if thoughts need to be challenged, we WILL hear them. They’ll be playing on repeat the same way any wretched earworm does - like, can we please stop it with the OOee-Makeba sound clip on TikTok and Instagram right now?
The Law of Assumption, paired with the knowledge of the three states our nervous system responds to life with, is the most powerful combination of techniques I’ve ever encountered.
It busted me out of hundreds of years of poverty on both maternal and paternal sides of my lineage AND helped me master the blessing-curse of having Saturn in the Second House of money and material resources.
We are no longer beseeching something outside of ourselves to come and deposit some sweet moolah in our bank accounts. We stop living from the “If This Then That” mode. If I think X, then the Universe will give it to me as if the Universe is your Sugar Daddy, and you have to perform to get what you want.
We begin to Bless our lives with the Belief that we already are it.
We move through the world resonating and radiating rich af energy.
And while we’re be-bopping through life all lit up, magnetic, and glowing, wouldn’t you just know it, money starts to show up for us in ways we’ve never experienced before.

LMW
